System Requirements

QuickFill runs on Windows

  • Windows XP (Home or Professional)
  • Windows Server 2003
  • Windows Server 2008
  • Windows Vista
  • Windows 7

Disk Space

  • 64 megabytes for the QuickFill software
  • Plus approximately 3.0 megabytes per 1,000 subscribers

Memory

Minimum recommended memory specified by Microsoft:

  • 128 megabytes for Windows XP
  • 256 megabytes for Windows Server 2003
  • 512 megabytes for Windows Server 2008
  • 1 gigabyte for Windows Vista
  • 1 gigabyte for 32-bit or 2 GB for 64-bit Windows 7

Multiuser Version

  • Shared file database does not require database server software (such as SQL Server or Oracle).
  • Storing the database files on a separate file server such as Windows Server 2003 or Windows 2008 Server recommended but not required.
  • Small networks based on the workgroup networking features of Windows can be used.
  • Reports and updates on the file server will run much faster if Windows is able to cache the entire database in memory. If your database size exceeds the Microsoft memory requirements, you will find it helpful to have a file server configured with a RAM memory capacity that matches or exceeds the database size.

Printing

Any printer with a Windows driver: supports laser, ink jet, and dot matrix printers.

QuickFill Internet Extensions

  • Broadband access to the Internet required.
  • At least one QuickFill workstation will need Microsoft SQL Server 2005 Express. We supply a customized installer for this. The operating system on this workstation must be a professional version of Windows XP or greater. Supported operating systems include MS XP Professional, Vista Business, Vista Ultimate, 7 Professional, 7 Ultimate, 7 Enterprise, Server 2003, and Server 2008.
