Marketing Lists

You use the 'Lists' screen to define the lists to which you've mailed—or plan to mail—your direct mail promotions. You can also use 'Lists' to identify publications where you run advertisements. That way, you can compare how ads did in various publications.

You can request that QuickFill sort your orders by list when you run several of the reports. This allows you to compare the response rate, renewal rate, payment rate, and revenue generated for orders you receive using different lists and determine which lists are most effective.

Defining marketing lists

When you select 'Marketing' under 'Definitions' on the main menu, and then select 'Lists', you'll see one of two screens. If you select 'Lists' for the first time after installing QuickFill, you'll see a screen with a blank form for defining the mailing list.

If you've already defined some mailing lists, you'll see a list of the mailing lists you've defined in the upper portion of the screen and the "New," "Change," "Replicate," and "Delete" options running along the bottom.

If you haven't yet defined any mailing lists, fill in the blank form and click on "OK" to save your changes.

You can define another list by clicking on "New," filling in the fields described below, and then clicking on "OK." If the list you want to define next is similar to one you've already defined, you can replicate the existing list by moving the cursor to the list you want to replicate and clicking on "Replicate."

Description

Make up and enter in this field an easy-to-remember code to identify the mailing list.

List code

Enter a brief description of the list. This description appears with the mailing list code on the mailing list selection box that pops up on some other screens when you right click in the list field. QuickFill also uses the code and description to identify the mailing list on your reports.

Cost per thousand

Enter the cost of renting the list if you'd like. It is used to compute the tracking code's 'Cost per thousand' that is in turn used by the 'New order revenue' report to compute the total marketing cost of the orders reported. Therefore, be sure to fill in the variable cost of the package if you want accurate results from the 'New order revenue' report.

Date of list

Enter the date you obtained the list. This field is optional.

You can also change the definition of a list by moving the cursor to the list you want to change and double clicking on it, or clicking once on "Change." You can delete a list that is not being used by moving the cursor to the list you want to delete and clicking on "Delete."
