At the top of the qualification data tab is a space for the qualification date, which is followed by a space for personal identification data as well as one line for each question you defined on the qualification form on the "Defining Publications" screen. If there are more questions than will fit on the screen, use the scroll bar to access the rows for the other questions.
The codes that you enter for each question should match those that are printed on your qualification form. If you find that a code is not being accepted, then check the qualification form on the "Defining Publications" audit tab to see which codes are allowed. There is no selection list available for these fields because it is more efficient to transcribe the codes directly from the qualification form than it is to stop and pick the code from a scrollable list.
Nonqualified subscriptions may have qualification data, but it is not required. Qualified subscriptions require that you enter a qualification date and responses for all questions that were marked as "required" when you defined the qualification form (unless the 'Qualification data required for paid subscriptions' field in the publication definition is blank). The qualification date you enter should be the date the subscriber filled out the qualification form, not the date you enter the data.
Qualification data for renewal and controlled requalification orders:
When entering a renewal order, QuickFill automatically retains the qualification data from the prior order, if there is any. If the subscriber filled in the qualification section of your order form, then you can update the qualification data by selecting the 'Qualification' tab. This will display the customer's qualification data and allow you to enter the new codes.
When entering a requalification order for a subscriber who filled in the qualification section of your order form, you can enter the qualification data by selecting the 'Qualification' tab. Otherwise, you can get the qualification data from the prior order by clicking on the "Get Prior Qual Data" button on the 'Qualification' tab.
When a renewal is entered for a single or two-party subscription that has qualification data and the qualification date is not updated, a "Did you forget to change the qualification date? Would you like to check it now?" warning message is displayed. If you would like to change the qualification date and/or data, click on "Yes." Otherwise, click on "No."
Note: updating qualification data on a renewal
If you update the qualification data while entering a renewal, the change will be reflected in the subscription history as a separate line, "Qualification data updated," under the 'Renewals' transaction.
Note: qualification batch number
Whenever the qualification data is changed during any transaction, the batch number and date for the data are also updated. If you go into lookup for the customer involved and click on "Qualdata," you will see that the batch number and qualification date have changed to reflect the most recent entry.
